Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead

Purpose of the role

To provide overall technical leadership and coordination for the Detailed Engineering phase, ensuring that engineering deliverables are technically sound, coordinated across disciplines, compliant with project requirements and delivered within the approved schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall engineering function.
• Develop and maintain the Engineering Execution Plan.
• Establish engineering deliverables, responsibilities and discipline interfaces.
• Coordinate all engineering disciplines.
• Review and approve discipline engineering deliverables.
• Ensure FEED assumptions are appropriately validated during Detailed Engineering.
• Manage technical queries, deviations, concessions and design changes.
• Ensure design development is consistent with approved project specifications.
• Coordinate engineering inputs to procurement, fabrication, construction and installation.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, constructability and operability reviews.
• Ensure engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports are properly checked and approved.
• Monitor engineering progress and identify technical risks.
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated.
• Provide technical support to the Project Manager and client.
• Ensure appropriate technical interfaces with vendors, subcontractors and installation contractors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian petroleum regulations, client standards, project specifications and recognised international engineering standards.
