HSE / Process Safety Engineer

Purpose of the role

To ensure that health, safety, environmental and process safety considerations are embedded into engineering design rather than addressed only during construction or operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project HSE engineering requirements.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and other safety studies.
• Conduct risk assessments.
• Develop safety requirements specifications where applicable.
• Review hazardous area requirements.
• Coordinate fire and gas requirements.
• Review emergency response requirements.
• Support safety-case requirements where applicable.
• Review lifting, access, escape and evacuation arrangements.
• Monitor engineering compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Track safety-study actions to close-out.
• Ensure applicable NUPRC HSEC requirements are incorporated into design.
