Technical Safety Engineer

Purpose of the role

Where the project is sufficiently large, this is held as a separate role from HSE.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical safety studies.
• Develop fire and gas philosophy.
• Conduct hazardous area classification.
• Develop escape, evacuation and rescue requirements.
• Perform firewater and firefighting assessments.
• Review passive and active fire protection.
• Conduct consequence modelling where required.
• Support QRA.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP.
• Review safety-critical elements.
• Develop safety-related engineering deliverables.
• Ensure safety requirements are incorporated into discipline designs.
